A few new photos.

I'm planning to buy a new lens for my camera -- one that has a low f-stop. The new lens is a 50mm lens that goes all the way down to f/1.8. My current lens only goes to f/4.5, which isn't low enough to get close-ups with really blurry backgrounds. In anticipation of the new lens, I took some shots of Libbie using my current lens on it's lowest f-stop.

Libbie is such a great model! She's much more patient than my girls and she's obedient, too. Plus, she never fakes a smile or tries to look like a princess. I appreciate that. Here are a few of the shots I took yesterday while she was alternately napping and staring out the window of the loft. The chair that she's lying in is the only piece of furniture she's allowed on. She loves to lie there in the afternoon sun while the girls sleep.

  1. Maybe you should trade in the girls for two more dogs....

  2. Now THAT is a great idea. I thought about calling social services to come get my kids on Sunday afternoon...yes, the day was that bad. Am I the only parent who's ever had that thought cross their mind?

  3. What kind of SLR camera do you have?

  4. We have the Canon Digital Rebel XTi. It's one of the most affordable digital slr's and it's available at Costco in a really great kit with (I think) an extra zoom lens and some other fun accessories. I got the Canon because I already had a 75-300mm zoom that would fit the Canon. If I were starting from scratch, I'd probably get the Nikon that's a similar price. Having said that, I like my Canon and haven't had any problems with it. And my new 50mm lens should arrive today!!

  5. That is the same camera I was looking at today! I am a loyal canon customer so I wouldn't get a Nikon. Not that I'm actually going to get an SLR...wishful thinking I guess!
